“Hush” is a passion project produced by Tinsel Noose, LLC; designed for the film festival circuit. My role was multi-faceted, including acting as Producer, Director of Photography, and Editor. As a Producer, I was able to guide the themes and overall feel of the film, as well as contribute to hiring cast and crew, determining set location, and ensuring that the whole production was on-budget and on-time. As the Director of Photography, I worked directly with the crew to produce the necessary lighting and shots to make the story come alive. The ultimate goal of this film was for the sound design and the editing to act as an additional character in the story. So, as an editor, this was especially challenging to portray ominous character traits through the use of quick cuts, rhythm, and audio design. Every cut, and creative editing decision, was very deliberately designed to put the viewer on edge.
